The key insight:
The word remnant sounds like reduction. Something leftover. Something diminished. But in Scripture it has never meant that.
The remnant is not what was discarded. It is what was kept — not by chance, but by design. Noah. Elijah. The seven thousand who had not bowed to Baal. In every case, what looked like isolation was actually preservation.
And here is the thing underneath it: the remnant has never been defined by perfection. It has been defined by response. Not by being right about everything. Not by having it all together. By hearing, and returning. By seeing clearly, and realigning. That is the whole qualification.
“Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.” — Romans 11:5
